THE DRYDEN FAMILY

William Dryden. tailor from Edmonston, Scotland, arrived in Somerset County in far eastern Maryland in 1683. His tailor's shop was in his home noted by the X near the Maniken River, My genealogical mentor, Carol Vass of Kent Washington with husband made a trip to Tennessee, Virginia, and Maryland a few years ago to trace the travels of our Drydens. In so doing she took several photos and sent them to me with descriptions of their significance. In the following, her descriptions are in quotes. I surely thank her for providing me with this information.
