BOBBY FOUND!!

AFTER WE MOVED INTO THE NEW HOUSE, DAD HAD A 1925 MAXWELL WITH ADEQUATE RUNNING GEAR AND A POOR BODY. IN ABOUT 1928, HE BOUGHT A CHRYSLER SEDAN WHICH HAD A MAXWELL TYPE BODY IN GOOD CONDITION THAT BODY BEING LIKE MAXWELL BECAUSE CHRYSLER HAD BOUGHT MASWELL MOTORS. DAD AND RAY KING CHANGED THE BODIES ON THE CARS

BUT LATER THE 1925 MAXWELL ENGINE GAVE TROUBLE AND DAD TRADED IT FOR A USED 1930 CHEVROLET TWO DOOR SEDAN. THEY BOUGHT IT ON A GMC PAYMENT PLAN AND HAVING THAT DEBT WORRIED THEM SO MUCH THAT THEY PAID IT OFF AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND NEVER BOUGHT ANYTHING ELSE ON TIME!

THE CHRYSLER WAS PARKED IN AN OLD FRAME GARAGE TO THE WEST OF THE NEW GARAGE. ONE HOT SUMMER AFTERNOON I RECALL LYING DOWN ON THE RUNNING BOARD OF THE OLD CAR AND GOING TO SLEEP. APPARENTLY MOM SOON MISSED ME, COULD NOT FIND ME FOR I RECALL HAVING LAID DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE CAR AWAY FROM THE DOOR. SO SHE CALLED DAD IN FROM THE FIELD AND SOME OF THE NEIGHBORS. THEY SEARCHED EVERY PLACE INCLUDING SEVERAL WELLS ON THE FARM AND EVEN THE GOLD MINE WITH NO SUCCESS.

FINALLY, I AWOKE AND WANDERED OUT INTO THE BRIGHT SUNSHINE TO THE RELIEF OF MY FOLKS AND NEIGHBORS.
